Kensington packs more cars into less curb than anywhere else on this list. The houses are two-up two-down with the front door on the sidewalk, there is no off-street parking to speak of, and the old factory buildings that have become apartments added residents without adding a single space. Cars end up parked tight, often on a block the owner cannot see from a window, and they stay there for days. Whatever happens to them happens unobserved.
So two jobs dominate. The first is the smashed side window: $200–$500 fitted, usually same day or the next morning, with the glass cleared out of the door channel and the seat rails as part of the work rather than as a favor. Break-ins and plain vandalism come first, and they are not the same thing — one takes the bag off the seat, the other takes the window and leaves everything behind.
