I-95 runs through it, the turnpike interchange sits at its edge, Street Road carries the retail traffic between the two, and Bristol Pike takes the trucks. A car based here that commutes anywhere spends its life on concrete, in lane-shifted work zones, alongside vehicles heavier than itself. That is the profile that produces windshield damage rather than break-ins: houses out here have driveways and garages, so the car sleeps off the street and whatever happens to it happens at fifty-five miles an hour.
The trip in is straightforward because it is essentially one road. Join I-95 south at Street Road, come off at Girard Avenue, and the shop is a few blocks up Frankford Avenue — twenty-five to thirty minutes when the highway is behaving and considerably more when it is not, which is an argument for a mid-morning slot rather than an eight o'clock one. The van does come up here, though sending it two counties for a single half-hour chip is not always the sensible use of anybody's morning; if you have two vehicles, a work truck standing in a yard, or a windshield where losing the day would cost real money, it makes obvious sense.
