What makes a mobile job good or bad is space, ground and weather, in that order. Space means a clear car's width on the side being worked on, plus somewhere flat and clean to lay a pane down, which is not the same thing as a parking spot. Ground means level enough that the vehicle is not sitting twisted while adhesive sets, and clean enough that grit is not blowing into a fresh bead. Weather rules out rain for anything bonded and makes a hard freeze a judgment call, because urethane cures on temperature as much as on time. A driveway with a garage wall on one side and open ground on the other handles all three better than most streets in this city.
The honest limits are worth stating up front. We will not bond a windshield in the rain, on the street or on your driveway, because a bead laid into damp will not key to the flange properly and you find that out two seasons later, as a leak or a whistle. We will not work on the Roosevelt Boulevard shoulder for any job, at any price. And we will not start a job that needs an undisturbed cure if the car has to be moved in forty minutes, so tell us your actual timings rather than the ones you hope for. Chips and tempered side glass ask far less of the conditions, so those still happen on a day a bonded windshield could not.

The Juniata driveway is worth a paragraph of its own because it is what makes this neighborhood workable. Room to stand at both A-pillars, no traffic passing at mirror height, no bus, and a surface that is not shedding grit is more or less the checklist, and a normal driveway meets it. Two local details change the answer. Slope: some of these driveways run downhill hard enough that a windshield would be setting into wet urethane at an angle, and we will look before committing. And overhead cover: parking under a mature tree along the creek side sounds helpful in July, but sap and falling debris landing on a fresh bead is a genuine problem, so we will usually ask to pull the car forward into open air first.

A steep one matters because while urethane is still green the glass can settle a fraction under its own weight, and on a bonded pane a fraction is the difference between a clean job and a wind whistle at fifty.
