$200 to $500 fitted, under an hour on most cars, and common door glass is stocked so a call before lunch often means the car is closed up the same day. Side windows are tempered, so there is no partial failure: the pane converts to several thousand blunt cubes at once, and digging those out of the door skin, the belt reel slot and the seat runners is genuinely half the work. Have the year, make and model ready when you call 215-608-1108.

The unhelpful thing about a broken side window is when you find out. A car left near the Transportation Center while its owner takes the El into town is out of sight for eight or nine hours, so a window that goes at ten in the morning is discovered at six in the evening, by which point whatever weather happened in between is inside the car. That is the version of this job where the seat foam and the door card need as much attention as the glass. It is also the version where the shelf matters most, because at six in the evening the only useful question is whether the pane can be in tomorrow morning, and the answer to that comes from the year, make and model rather than from a description of the damage.
The replacement itself is quick and the care is all in the parts nobody sees. The door trim comes off and the moisture barrier is peeled and re-sealed rather than ripped, since that sheet is what stops water running off the inside of the door skin into your carpet. The regulator gets checked before the new pane goes in, because a window broken by an impact often takes a bent channel or a stretched cable with it. The felt run channels get cleared, or the new glass will grind every time it drops. And the door skin gets vacuumed out, because cubes sitting over the drain holes at the bottom of a door are how a door rusts from the inside out.
“Rich is amazing! Helped me with a broken window. He was able to get me in same day and did beautiful work at an incredible price point. I literally tell everyone now to go to him if they need anything done.”

Frankford has two quite different parking situations and they change the answer on where we work. On the residential streets, a car outside the house on a block wide enough to open the door fully is a straightforward mobile job and it gets done there. Around the Transportation Center and the busier stretch of Frankford Avenue, it is not: the curb lane is bus territory, loading goes on all day, and there is no version of taking a door card off in that. If your car is one of the ones that sits there through a working day, the practical move is to drive it home or drive it in rather than have us try to work beside a bus stop. Fifteen minutes down Frankford Avenue and it is done properly.
Same service, same price, other Fishtown neighborhoods:
Get the water out before you worry about the glass. Lift the floor mat rather than leaving it soaked on the carpet, put a towel in the door pocket, and if you can, tape heavy plastic to the inside of the window frame rather than the outside so it is not fighting the wind. Do not run tape over paintwork above the window if you can help it, because a hot day makes that a paint problem. Then call 215-608-1108 in the morning with the year, make and model and we will tell you whether the pane is in stock.
Usually not, and we check rather than assume. In most cases the regulator survives the break and the only casualties are the pane and everyone's morning. Where it does not, the giveaway is a window that drops crooked, grinds, or will not hold at the top, and that is normally a bent channel or a stretched cable rather than a whole new mechanism. We look with the trim panel off, before the new glass goes in, and tell you what we find and what it costs before doing anything beyond the pane you called about.
Tell us the vehicle and the glass that's damaged — you'll see your price instantly, and we'll hold it for you.
